I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like our PES logo.

I love it.

My brother-in-law, Kevn (yes, that is the proper spelling) Lambson designed it. And he did a bunch of other great looking graphics for us back in 2008. You can see some of those listed at

Here’s a little sampling

Now we have an opportunity to give back a little.

He’s running a cool Kickstarter fundraiser campaign for “ChessPas: Chess-on-the-Run

My first son was 10 years old. That was seven years ago.

“I have something very important to teach you. It’s Chess.”

“But Dad, can’t I work on my Thermonuclear Gastric Unification Theory right now?” Ah, kids. So young, so naive, so ambitious.

“That atom-smashing sissy fluff will have to wait another day. This, my boy, is more pressing.” And I taught him that the Knight moves in an “L” shape, that the Queen rules the roost even though the King thinks he does, that the Castle is called a Rook. We learned to speak a bit of French. En passant, mon ami.

He’s taking pre-orders for the gizmo that could pass as a Mother’s Day present (since it is good for bringing family together in an enjoyable, sharing setting — but the delivery is expected in June, so …), to meet any budget.

Even if you don’t want to chip in, you ought to watch his promo video and read through his text.

He’s a hoot. One of my favorite comedians who actually makes a living doing art instead of stand-up comedy.

Go check it out.

There are only three days left for him to reach his goal in the all-or-nothing campign, so let’s go show him some love. I meant to put this up in our news much sooner than this.

By the way, the last campaign I mentioned along these lines got funded, thanks in part to our readers.
